In the Indian Medical Science, Body and Mind have been given equal status for treatment. If the mind of a person is contented the body also remains healthy. Keeping this principle as the basis and to consider psychological health of patients for better physical treatment, a Psychology Department  was recently  opened  at the Hospital.

 

In order to assess the developmental and psychological health of persons, different psychological tests like Developmental Screening Test, I.Q. Test,E.Q. Test, Clinical Test, Aptitude & Attitude Test and related equipments are utilised at the Hospital. Considering the financial position of the residents of rural folk in KONKAN Region, these Tests will be  conducted relatively at much cheaper rates as compared to the rates prevailing in Pune- Mumbai.

 

Psychological assessment and the counseling is necessary

• In order to find out Psychological disorders like Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Phobia

• To find out Psychotic or neurotic Personality, level of wisdom, how a person keeps control on emotions and to assess how a person interacts with others in the society

• To find out the reasons behind psycho-somatic complaints like fatigue, headache in spite of all the physical reports being normal

• To assist the students in schools and colleges to overcome their emotional, educational difficulties

• To assist appointing right persons at right places by psychological assessments by analyzing their emotional, behavioral pattern

Psychological assessment is also advantageous to quickly find out the current problem (if any), future position of a person by analyzing present and past position of a person, for a successful career, for a good co-ordination of psychological, emotional and social factors.
